Monday morning I called in sick to work. I was insomniatic Sunday night and got maybe an hour of sleep.

Repeat Wednesday night. I dragged my ass into work this morning because (shock shock) Friday is the last day of summer school. That means, I just needed to get up today and tomorrow.

Work was...well...work. The moron district decided that all history teachers needed to give the district test for this semester (yet we didn't last semester...hmmmm). Now, the kicker: We had to give it today. NOT on the last day as a final. NOT after we had actually FINISHED teaching all the damned information.

Needless to say, a few of us have decided that if giving the district test means we're "done", tomorrow is going to be a...hmmm... relaxing experience. All the kids that had time available (they can only miss 1.5 days in 3 weeks) were told that if they missed all day, I couldn't drop them. (hint hint). The kids were told that they needed to be there. What I DID not tell them was what we were actually doing!

So, I'm gonna pop something tonight to help me sleep, because I'm at the point of exhaustion, nausea, and headaches. HOPEFULLY I can actually get some sleep and be up to finishing all my grading tomorrow and be ready to go at 12:20.

Then I get a whole 3 weeks of vacation. Found out that our meetings for the back to school stuff that the Admin swears they gave us a month ago, yet no teachers ever GOT it, starts while I'm on the only 3 day vacation I'm actually taking. Aug 5 and 6 are meetings, Aug 8 is teacher prep day, and we start school a full month early on Aug 11.

I'd planned on relaxing this weekend. I have an awesome family (re: not mine, a family friends of mine) party Sat. that I may or may not be able to attend, depending on how exhausted I am....

I am TEACHING summer school.

I had to throw out (remove) 2 boys for being late...AGAIN...this morning. One was an hour late. ONE day of class is equal to a week and a half of school and he missed 7.5 hours of school. You do the math. He tried to go over my head to my Principal and say I never told him, but when the principal and he came back, the rest of the class laughed and said he wasn't listening, I told everyone who was in danger several times...

Then I gave a test after break. Two of my "ingenious" students decided to cheat on the test. I however, am older and wiser, and caught them red handed (actually red penciled). Since they use a red pencil to correct the tests, they just left questions blank, marked with the pencil the right letter, then tried to go back after the test and (using their own pencil, which they are NOT allowed to have for this very reason) try to quickly fill in the "right" answers.

Caught em with half the test still blank, nothing marked "wrong" and all those nice and convenient red marks. DO NOT mess with me. I'm tired, PMS'ing, and you KNEW the school rules. I DARE a parent to call, complaining that their little angel would never do that. I'm hoping it's just the teething, cause if not, Col's threatening to velcro him to a wall somewhere and terrycloth jumpers are perfect for velcro.

My Stepdad handed me $500 to buy mom a Mac Mini, since her old G3, which was Col's at Blizzard (gads, 5 years?) is dying. We have two spare Flats for her so she can get rid of the CRT and she has a mouse and keyboard, so we're set there. She's also getting internet (FINALLY dammit. I think the fact that my aunt in San Diego's been getting pictures of the kids on Facebook faster than Mom's getting hard copies decided it for her!)

Sunday night was clean, cook, etc. Monday started Summer school (you WILL note the length of my vacation, please. ONE FREAKING DAY.) My hip was aching horribly and the minute I got him Bug started with a new word. POOOOOOL. Very adorable, Her lips get all pucker up. She'd been playing with the new pool float we bought for Boo and asking dad all day for pooooooool.

We took them. They had a blast. Boo's a water baby anyway (Capricorn!) and Bug's just discovered laying down in the tub. That's was a experience, since the apt pool is 3 feet deep at the SHALLOW end. Thankfully both of them had pool boats. Dad with one, me with the other.

Took an IB, cause my hip/leg was still hurting. I'm wondering if it's related to the HUGE bruise on my right leg that I don't remember getting. It's the size of my FIST and it all shades of purple and black and green and yellow. Swollen, too. I know HOW I got it....that evil and dememted computer Desk from hell!

Tuesday work: Went to get the mini after school then drove to Pomona to help Wes Move...again. He failed to tell anyone else about the need to move from one side of the apt complex to the other...Again. It was hot. AGAIN. This is two or three summers in a row that Cal Poly has moved him for the summer and it has SUCKED.

Got home too late for the wow Raid on Shadow Labs we'd planned with the guild and since I'm the freaking holy priest, the raid fell apart. Sorry about that, guys.

Last night: Got home. Derek was with the kids, cause Col decided (for no good reason, which he apologized for profusely later when he realized his screw up) to leave the kids with Derek, who was running a 102.5 fever and spacing out, and go to Frys to buy something that we didn't need for a month (speakers and a web cam for Mom) There were so many things wrong that I can't go over it all here.

Today: Work (did I mention that Summer school starts a half hour EARLIER than regular school? That means I have to LEAVE riverside by 6:10 to be in Fontucky (Fontanana) by 6:45?) ON the positive side, I get out at 12:20....with on break at 9:30...oh, yeah and THE AC IS OFF AGAIN. yesterday it was EASILY 90 in here, Today it's gonna be HOTTER.

Update: The first room I was gonna move the kids into had no AC either. Ended up borrow a room from a teacher who is in the labs for the day. I'm dying up here....
