Wonderful weekend
Other than ending up at urgent Care Friday to find out I have an inflamed ligament connecting tibia to hip, it was a good weekend, of which I missed half.
Guild bbq Sat night, didn't know. Couldn't expect kids to stay that long anyway.
Bug had her first temper tantrum Friday, over her light up shoes. She brought them to me to put on, then screamed (and I mean SCREAMED) when they were on. Had a complete meltdown. I was waiting for her first tantrum and picked a subject she should learn from. I kept her close but let her cry for about 40 minutes, talking to her. "Mommy knows you are upset, why won't you show mommy why you are mad?", and "Mommy loves you. When you calm down we will talk." When I moved rooms, I took her with me. She was NEVER out of arms reach, even when I was doing laundry. I was trying to teach her self control a bit. After 40 minutes she calmed down enough to respond. I asked her if she was mad. She nodded. I asked what for, and she held up her feet. I asked if her feet hurt, and she said no. She pointed to the shoes. I asked "If you don't like these shoes, why did you bring them to me to put on, and why didn't you take them off...?"
She looked kinda confused, then reached down, unvelcroed them and took them off. IMMEDIATELY happy and smiles, and hugs.
Then on Saturday after a full day of Faire (WOOOOOT finally) we took her to aunt Shiny and Aunt Angie, and Uncle Fish and Uncle Evan's place for her first ever sleepover. According to Fish, she was fine. Did pretty good. Shiny said she cried a bit at bedtime, but was actually pretty ok.

She did cry a little bit at bedtime, and a little bit when she woke up the first time, but nothing that couldn't be fixed with hugs and snuggling. :)
I've been told to let her play with them and she MIGHT feel comfy wearing them.
if not, Anne gave me a pair of German sandles that have no lights. They have now gone through 4 boys and are still in damned good shape. That is what $200 kids shoes do....you buy them if you know you are gonna have a big family cause they last practically FOREVER.
Anne came over and gave me.....hmm....8 more pairs of shoes? I know it was a large amount. One of them are sandals that she has already worn.
Parents are telling me that it takes seeing other kids in the LED shoes and playing with their for them to want to wear them. I knew the tantrum was coming and I wanted it to be on a subject that I could control (like the removing of the shoes) rather than something I can't (like trying to take her seatbelt off in the car).
When I asked her last night if she would want to go back, she smiled and nodded in that cute as hell way. So I'm assuming she had fun, and all you have to do is tell me when you want her again... I'll work with your schedule.
Besides, Angie says she wants her next!
I'm thinking having Cailie over might need to be a regular thing. Like, maybe once or twice a month depending on schedules. :)
Sleeping in Sunday, even with bottle feeding Aiden at 6:30, was a blessing.....that extra hour and a half was sooooo sweet.
