Ok, I've been complaining all week about it being bad. And it was.

Last night set most of it on the path to "better".

I got home to a brother in law and his girl offering to cook dinner. Cailie was asleep, so Col took Aiden to the store with them. ALONE time.

When they came back, I took the girlfriend to go buy boning and cord at the Dragon's Marsh in Riverside (they moved, FYI. one building back).

Spent a good hour out driving and relaxing, and got home to a cooked meal. Chicken Fajitas, black beans a la Cubano, and fideo. YUM. Ate, watched "Transformers" (I told you I haven't been to the movies in a LONG time), got kids asleep, cleaned kitchen, shower and bed. All by 10:30.

Aiden woke at 3 for food, went back out. i awoke at 6:10. Got to work on time (for once this week) and period 1 ACTUALLY listened and participated in conversation, mostly because we're covering Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan in the 70-80's for Cold War.

My older brother is coming up for this weekend. His Birthday is Monday, so he's gate-listing through the privateers and will probably be in Derek's whites and greens because Derek's on crutches. Feel free to harass the crap out of him. PLEASE. This is his third year gate-listing...he can TAKE it.

Mudslides with added Kahlua over ice= happy place.

2 and no dinner = Happier place.

Pumping and dumping so I don't make the baby drunk= happy.

Going on a date with my husband tonight while brother babysits kids= happy place.

Getting all this because the guys screwed up Monday and saw Ironman with out 1) asking if I wanted to go, 2) asking if I minded being with the kids for 3 hours 3) TELLING ME where they were going (I literally turned around and they were gone with no clue where!!)= Priceless.

Mother's day is this weekend. She fed you, you parasitic leech, for 40 weeks. If you still have a good relationship, be kind to her.

Other than ending up at urgent Care Friday to find out I have an inflamed ligament connecting tibia to hip, it was a good weekend, of which I missed half.

Guild bbq Sat night, didn't know. Couldn't expect kids to stay that long anyway.

Bug had her first temper tantrum Friday, over her light up shoes. She brought them to me to put on, then screamed (and I mean SCREAMED) when they were on. Had a complete meltdown. I was waiting for her first tantrum and picked a subject she should learn from. I kept her close but let her cry for about 40 minutes, talking to her. "Mommy knows you are upset, why won't you show mommy why you are mad?", and "Mommy loves you. When you calm down we will talk." When I moved rooms, I took her with me. She was NEVER out of arms reach, even when I was doing laundry. I was trying to teach her self control a bit. After 40 minutes she calmed down enough to respond. I asked her if she was mad. She nodded. I asked what for, and she held up her feet. I asked if her feet hurt, and she said no. She pointed to the shoes. I asked "If you don't like these shoes, why did you bring them to me to put on, and why didn't you take them off...?"

She looked kinda confused, then reached down, unvelcroed them and took them off. IMMEDIATELY happy and smiles, and hugs.

Then on Saturday after a full day of Faire (WOOOOOT finally) we took her to aunt Shiny and Aunt Angie, and Uncle Fish and Uncle Evan's place for her first ever sleepover. According to Fish, she was fine. Did pretty good. Shiny said she cried a bit at bedtime, but was actually pretty ok.

I'm looking for a book from my childhood. I'm not sure the name, but I swore for years it was called "Little Cloud". It's about a set of clouds drifting across the plains and the run into the mountains. All the big clouds stay against the mountains and being to rain, except Little Cloud.. He drifts up the mountain and finds a patch of  desert just over the mountain that never gets rain because the mountains keep the clouds away.  He goes back to the other clouds and convinces them to come over the mountain and rain on the desert, making it bloom for the first time ever.

Ok, I get multicolored, full on smell-o-vision, color and literate dreams, no matter what the "experts" think.

Last night-

I was working in a mage tower. (don't ask). I guess i was captain of the guard or something, the last captain disappeared rather mysteriously and I was sent in from "central" to deal with it.

I get there, and it's a full on town/city. there are 2 types of people: the mages, who live in the tower and almost never leave, and the workers, both in the tower and in the city. They live "downstairs". The whole damned place is built on a solid "Foundation" (note the capital) of rock.

No one knew this, but I could practice magic. I didn't know that I was the first 'outsider' in the tower in 6 generations. I get in and start noticing that the servants act VERY weird. It's a full on mage school and I am expected to teach self defense...to a bunch of people who are convinced if they are attacked they can blow the attackers through walls.

ok, the part that was most weird: I was in the former captain's room up in the tower investigating and I was with a whole room of mages. I noticed this weird looking rock and then I ask the mages if they see it, they all think I'm nuts. I wait until they leave, and push the rock (whole tower is built out of "Foundation" rock except this one damned rock). The rock opens a secret stairway behind the wall, and it leads down......eventually to my guess and from the random windows, into the Foundation.

Once down, there is a gate/door/portal. When I try to step through, I feel like my body is being ripped apart. Suddenly I had (what, when I awoke, I described as a Hermione moment in the vines) a vision. This place was accessible only to workers and not mages and therefore, this would keep anyone practicing magic out. If I immediately cast a spell, as most mages would do when threatened, it would 'do something' to me. Resisting the urge to block, I let it take me though...and came out the other side perfectly fine. Except for the pile of unconscious people on the other side that I tripped on.

One of the people in the room looked up an panicked. I had obviously found this place while they were emptying it out, because there were alot of people moving boxes and equipment around. I was (of course) captured and asked questions.

The room was build below the "foundation" it was actually a labyrinth of tunnels dug out over time by the servants. The door was made more than 6 generations ago by the mages themselves to give the servants a location of protection and defense. It was currently being used as that exact thing, because there were rumors that the mages were using the students as a power source but that they kept loosing the power they were collecting.

I remembered the way the students talked about the "Foundation" as though it was an object and I realized (through my obvious training at ANOTHER mage school that trained the workers as well as the mages about magic) that the Foundation itself was responsible for leeching away the excess magic. Think a power drain, in case someone figures out how to make an overcharged battery.

The stack of unconscious bodies had accumulated over the last few hundred years, and all were still ALIVE, healthy and everything. The servants were afraid to push them back through because they would wake up.....to meet their great great grandkids in most cases. These were former mages who had found the portal, gone through, cast ANY spell and been brain frozen as a result.

Included in this group was the former captain, who, by tradition in this place, was NOT suppose to have magic. I guess they tried to divide the town into magical and Non, giving both certain rights. Because I was an outsider, I saw things they didn't and was able to get this whole thing figured out in less than a week.

Ok, the story went on from here, but at 3:15 Am this morning, the breast leech woke up screaming his displeasure at being hungry and I LOST most of the rest of this.

Dammit.

It was ASS hot Saturday. The kids melted WAY too early.

WE had to leave faire at 12:30. Sorry if this makes you sad.

If ever my kids show signs of being truly unhappy because of a place, a situation, or THE FREAKING WEATHER, I am pulling them. Immediately. I do not care if that ruins your day. YOU are NOT that important, compared to my children.

In four years, when they are 5 and 4, things may be different. Not much, but I can expect them to put up with a little heat to help others out. But NOT when they are 3 months and 19 months old. I don't care it that leaves you hanging.

No, really, I don't.

PS, to all those STILL at faire, it's 5:30 Sat evening, it's +95F for you, I'm in the AC, with two happy and sleeping children, both of whom ate, drank enough to fill diapers and make mommy happy, and are, once again, sleeping.

Need to stay awake during rest of school day. Students are working on Cold War vocabulary work.

Need to find way to make world history a 2 year course.  They expect everything from roots of democracy through YESTERDAY in 9 months.   Can barely make it to 1970's.

With so much stupidity in our lives, the whole faire lunchcard thing has just proven how stupid this is.  left hand, meet right hand.

Now at work.  ASB is giving raffle tickets for those students who show up to class, on time.  Note the lack of " and try hard on state testing". All they have to do is be here on time.

Now, why did we need to buy 4 ROLLS of raffle tickets in 4 seperate colors to raffle off crap for the kids? (Note, the crap they are raffeling like Ipod Nanos and Dig Cameras, while cool, AREN'T ALLOWED AT SCHOOL. ::headdesk until bleeding::)

They took attendance EACH DAY. All they had to do was RANDOMLY pick a kid from the computer system and VIOLA.

No, instead they waste money on RAFFLE TICKETS.

The PTB didn't plan enough time into the schedule (as usual), so I had kids who have to do extra time to finish. 

Positive: Olive Garden caters lunch for the teachers today (woo hoo, free lunch)

Negative: meeting all afternoon.

Friday: Good.  Work sucked like always.  Kids were competing for cookies. I love psychology on Sophomores.  Went to G-mas a bit late, cause I had to make a biggens for Bug and a pair of bloomers.  Damned bloomers made me mad: she wore her stretch pants under her skirts!.  Biggins are easy, when I remember what order to sew them in.

Sat: Ass early to drive up. Parked fairly close.  Got in through Front gate without even being asked.  Got dressed. Aunti Shinyevil took bug to morning meeting in her cuteness!  We dressed Boo-boo (Aiden's newest nickname, after Veloci-penguin). got ourselves dressed.  Had to sew up buttonholes in costume, Pissed me off.  Hopefully, surcoat will STAY closed from now on.

Spent most of the morning letting Cailie take me for walked.  Note: 25 feet of Russet Grosgrain ribbon as a leash ROCKS!  People see it and it's VISIBLE, yet clashed/matches her dress sooooo well.  Let Collin rest with Aiden at the tavern.  Went all over. Got to see Nasagrl out front on one of our sojuourns.  Got to wander around and in general, for our first weekend out, enjoy ourselves.

Notes: Take sippy cup for backstage uses.  Cailie dehydrated a bit and it made her stupid. Pack extra socks.  For me, and both kids.  MORE DIAPER WIPES. Cailie discovered the dirt pile out front.

Sunday: pure exhaustion.  Did laundry. Went to Shinyevil' and Fish's house to drop of bug's dress (soooooo cute!) for a project turn in.  Picked up 7 hab and hot pepper plants.  On way home, stopped at nursery to pick up more pots and new soils.  Got home, planted the plants, fed the kids, watched "John Tucker Must Die"  (teen flick TIVO grabbed, not bad, NOT the traditional ending!)  Sleep, blessed sleep.


To Do this week:
1) CST testing all week. EXPECT lost of posts because I WILL BE BORED.
2) Early minimum days on Wed and Thursday.
3) Make another pair of pants for Cailie
4) Make new biggens (see above about sewing them CORRECTLY)
5) take biggens to work : Embroider "Prop of St Ives" on hat
6) fix Aiden's sleeves.  They are 5 inches TOO long.

I'm looking to see if anyone got pictures of the girl this week. I haven't seen any yet and my camera was dead on batteries.

4) Depending on weather, make her a short cloak really fast.
5) Slice open my shirt into a partlet (sp?) so I can BF backstage (or up front if I wanna!)
6) Recheck Col's pants fit (again).

Buy food for tavern/house. The food I bought last week was all eaten over the week at home. Damned angel food cakes.

Ok, I left work early Friday cause Collin called, saying he was sick and spending most of the day in the bathroom, I needed to handle the kids.

No problem. Came home, finished Cailie's new shirt, started her new bloomers. Collin is very sick with tummy wombats (don't ask). Take both kids and go somewhere else for most of the night. came home at 10, he's still sick.

Sat morning. Start kinda getting ready for Faire.  Derek's in teh bathroom, throwing up.  Cailie's snuffly.  Feed her some juice. She vomits. ALL over me.  Give her some pedialye (had bought for collin) Throws up on me again (second change of clothes).  Coll's still in the bathroom. (we have two) . Aiden drink his bottle. Throws half of it back up at me.

Crap.  CRAPCRAPCRAPCRAPCRAP. Needless to say, we stayed home.

Cleaned as much as possible this am to homefully chase out he bug. Found a WASPS nest being built on my doorsill.  Apt people say "wait till Monday" F That.  Collin sprayed and threw the nest across the street.

Cailie's now thrown up 4 times. Aiden's groggy and crancky.  Col's on the mend. I feel like crap.

All laundry: done. Floors vaccuumed. Dishes done. Costco run =$300. Got all supplies needed to keep house functioning.

Still need to clean deck of extra crap Faire stuff (not needed).  Finish midget bloomers.

Ok, the way my district runs it, I get a set amount per day (duh).  When all your sick leave is used up, (ten days a year), if you call in sick and have a Dr. Note, they:
1)take your daily amount
2) Pay the sub first
3) pay you what's left (and they tax on this step, thank god)

So....I was out on maternity leave for Jan, Feb, and the first week of March.  I got HALF my normal checks.

Reminder, Collin is daycare for the kids. I am the sole funding here (almost).

Things last month were tight, but my Tax Return helped. This month they were more tight.  Like, "which bill do I pay" tight.

Then this morning I get a genius Idea.  Call my disability people and see if the bastards actually got my claim.

Last year with Cailie, I filed the claim at Halloween, and got it for Xmas. Like 3 days before Xmas.

This time I filed March 23.  I'm sitting here, knowing that I *may* get that government bribe in May, that I AM teaching summer school, that I AM getting a retro raise check.  May, June, July, Aug, And Sept are fine.  APRIL was going to be tight.


So I call.  "Yes, we received your claim on March 23rd. (I faxed it!)  Yes, we looked over your claim.



Your check was mailed April First.  Not a joke.  $2,000 (I honestly have no idea the true amount, because when I heard they had already mailed the check I freaked in a happy way).

Me: Interesting. I've met the kid like once a month since school began, he rarely come to class. He missed ALL of last week.  When he arrived on Monday, I handed him a blank form and told him to get it to me Tuesday. Meanwhile, I sent him to the Library. I told him if he didn't get it signed, he would be in the library doing holocaust research.  I'm assuming he's in your office now?
Ap. Right here. He has his slip.
Me: That's nice, we're on the last day of class, he's missed it all, he's never in class. Have you checked his Attendance.
Ap: Pulling it up no...Holy cow. How has he missed THAT many days.
Me: Ask him.

He leaves her room, come up to me, gets a pass to the library, and on the way out, SECURITY grabs him...seems they figured out he was the one they've been trying to find for 2 months for his attendance.

(BTW, the AP I spoke with is an amazing lady, and NOT his Ap.  HIS AP was the one who finally figure out the name and sent security after him.  Little monkey's been using fake ids)

...Tries to slice her wrist open.

She was playing with the baby swing, turned away when she was yelled at, swung wide, tripped on her own feet on the turn, and fell into the baby gate.

Two cries, she walks away. I grab her to change her diaper because it was THAT TIME....

I look at her wrist and it's all bloody. I clean it off to look closer. There are 6 slash marks all connected by one line running down. it's bleeding.

One alcohol wipe, two bandaids hooked together (man, my medicine cabinet currently SUCKS for bandaids!) and some pain free antibiotic cream later, she looks like a psych ward inmate. She's holding the wrapped hand in the air. Every time she looks at the hand, she cries.....


soothed tears: Check
Bandaged: Check
Held: Check
Fed dinner off mom's plate to ease fear: Check

now.....how do I keep the bandage on?

Ok, fish got me reading this series, and now we may be looking t a movie by Peter Jackson.

I really really do love my daughter...

Ok. Yesterday, not bad.

Last night: back spasmed before bedtime. Girl did not want to go to sleep. Boy crashed right out.

Back spasmed again when we moved the babies.

2 hours later; Bug comes in the bedroom, crying. Hurting. Spend 2 hours trying to get her to crash back out. Had to take her to the living room and hold her in bed again. She FINALLY crashed all the way. Getting up, Spasm 3.

Ok, this is tiring. No sleep AND pain... not fun.

20 minutes in bed, the boy wakes. B/F 45 minutes. ARGH.... Bottle, No sleep.

Get up this morning. Spasm upon moving. I immediately call work. I'm hurt AND afraid to drive.

So much for making a whole week of work my first week back.
